"Leadership is all about service not only to the School but to the society at large"
With this thought, the SJC family organized it's Annual Investiture Ceremony on 14th July, 2018 in the College Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the function, the Inspector General of Police, Allahabad Range, Mr. Ramit Sharma was welcomed by the entire audience with a huge round of applause.
The programme started with a reading from the Holy Bible and a prayer by Mrs. M. D'Souza followed by the singing of a prayer song and the College Anthem by the College Choir.
Mrs. N. Bajpai next, introduced our Chief Guest, Mr. Ramit Sharma lauding him for his stellar contribution to society since 1999. Mr. Sharma was presented a bouquet by our Principal, Rev. Fr. Rolfie D'Souza.
The student were all ears as the Master of the Ceremony Mr. V. Thomas called out the names of the Office Bearers for the Academic Year 2018-19. The Chief Guest then administered the oath to all the office bearers making them realize the need to take all the duties entrusted to them by the College Administration, very seriously. He and our Principal pinned the batch and Sash to our newly appointed College Captain, Kanha Mishra, Subsequently the Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Joseph Sagayanathan and the Administrator, Mr. A. McGowan did the same for the Athletic Captain, Raiyyain Qamar while our Chief Coordinator, Mr. J. Dube pinned the badge onto our College Vice Captain, Utkarsh Singh. Thereafter the House Masters did the same for their House Captains, House Vice Captains, the House head Prefects and the House Head Marshals respectively. In likewise manner, the Heads of various associations pinned the badges to the office bearers of their respective associations.
The Chief Guest then handed over the College flag to the newly appointed College Captain. The Vice Principal and the Administrator handed over the Athletic flag to the newly appointed Athletic Captain. Similarly the House Master handed over the house Flags to their respective house captains and C-Squad Leaders.
The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering by first congratulating everyone on bagging the posts, making them realize the gravity of their responsibilities and emphasizing that "it is very easy to achieve a position but very tough to maintain it".
The Principal then presented a memento to the Chief Guest as a mark of our appreciation. The College Captain in his speech thanked everyone for their efforts that led to the smooth functioning of the Investiture Ceremony. The Principal then addressed the gathering telling everyone to strive hard and do their best for the College and for the society as a whole, saying that leadership for him meant service.
The College Vice Captain, Utkarsh Singh proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
