It goes beyond motivation into the realm of inspiration.” -Azim Premji How can the second day of a mega event possibly surpass the excitement, enthusiasm and exemplary performances of the first day? The second day of the thrilling two-day extravaganza, Josephest 2023, unfolded with more exhilarating and enthralling experiences. The euphoria of Day 2 was accentuated by a vibrant and electrifying blend of diverse elements with unarguably the most anticipated events like Qawwali, Sell it to Win it and Dance. The event was blessed with the presence of Chief Guest, Justice Vivek Varma on Day 2 of Josephest. The dignitaries Principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kumar, Headmaster, Rev. Fr. Melvin Pais, Additional Administrator, Mr. Aubrey McGowan, Staff Coordinator, Mr. Jyoti Dube and the Principal of IPEM International School, Dr. Sumit David Liddle. Qawwali The Qawwali Event transported the audience into a realm of spiritual ecstasy and musical enchantment. Qawwali, the ancient Sufi devotional music, brought together both performers and spectators in a profound expression of devotion and unity. Marvellous synchronization of terrific vocals and exceptional instrumentals elevated the art form into a realm few can dream of entering, thus making this event an unforgettable experience for one and all. Sell it to win it Do you have what it takes to sell a product? What strategies would you employ? "Sell It to Win It”: an event which tests your salesmanship and entrepreneurial talent to the hilt. With an atmosphere of nail-biting anticipation and competition, this event proved to be a dynamic and engaging experience for both participants and the audience. The participants had a tough time preparing for their act as they had to come up with a presentation on the topic “Suits” which was given to them the day before. Nevertheless, the humorous acts left the audience in splits. Group Dance Dance is the mesmerising language of the body, a symphony of graceful movements that transcends words. Whether you’re a participant or an observer, dance has the power to transport you to a world where joy, passion and creativity collide in a beautiful and captivating spectacle. To replicate the same emotion, a group dance competition was conducted in Josephest 2023. The most highly awaited event was conducted on the second day and from the very first performance, the stage was transformed into a vibrant canvas of movement and rhythm, leaving the audience in awe as the participants demonstrated their dancing prowess on stage symbolising the theme:“Don’t be a victim, be a survivor”, leaving the audience tapping their feet in unison. Code Masters Not everyone has the requisite computing skills to be able to crack the code in a timely manner, given in an event aptly named, Code Masters. It was a competition in which all participant’s coding skills were tested as all the participants were given four programming questions which they were expected to solve efficiently, accurately and methodically. Hindi Debate Debating the finer points of an argument is something which demands general knowledge, presence of mind and most importantly the ability to articulate one’s point of view in such a way that little if any room is left for doubt. The way the Hindi Debaters proved their astuteness in both offering their arguments in their speeches and interjections, both for or against the topic, “The Law of Nature is not equality but inequality”, really enthralled the gathering. FIFA One of the most immersive gameplays, FIFA arrests the attention of all its players with its rich history as well as stunning graphics. In the realm of scholastic extracurricular activities, this burgeoning trend has emerged as an intensely captivating game engaging enthusiasts and igniting a fervour for competition like nothing else. FIFA offers a platform for students to showcase their decision-making skills, tactical acumen, and lightning-fast reflexes. Face painting One of the most versatile media for any artists to test their mettle, is Face Painting. It is a type of art competition in which the participants are given a topic on the spot and artists had to show up their imaginative, insightful and creative skills to paint the faces of their teammates. The audience was truly left spellbound with the fantastic way in which the various contestants interpreted the given topic “Vasudheva Kutumbakam.” Quiz To test the knowledge, quick thinking, and problem-solving skills of the participants, a thrilling quiz competition was conducted in Josephest 2023. Diving into the world of trivia, the Quiz competition provided a platform to the participants to showcase their knowledge and proficiency. The success of this event added to the overall appeal of Josephest 2023. A soul stirring video was presented by IT Association in which they showed the Legacy of SJC. The ex-participants of Josephest from select schools, shared their experiences emphasizing on the arrangements, discipline and enjoyment they had experienced, expressing their gratitude to the management for the warm hospitality. After the conclusion of all the events, it was time for the closing ceremony wherein all the winners of the respective events were presented with medals and certificates by the dignitaries present in the Auditorium. After the presentation, the esteemed Chief Guest, Justice Vivek Varma announced the names of the champions, the first and the second runners up: First Position- St. Josephs College, Prayagraj (ZEUS) Second Position-St. Mary’s Convent, Prayagraj (HERA) Third Position- IPEM International School, Prayagraj (HERMES) and St. Mary’s School, Mirzapur (HESTIA) In his addressal to the gathering Chief Guest, Justice Vivek Varma shared his experiences as an ex-Josephite in which he talked about the moral values he had imbibed from this school. He shared that his Alma Mater had left an indelible mark on him and helped him in embracing the spirit of whole-hearted work and being relentless in the pursuit of excellence. He concluded his speech by giving the audience a lesson that wherever we will go, the values we are enriched with goes with us. In his addressal to the gathering, Principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kumar, expressed his immense gratitude to the Chief Guest, Justice Vivek Varma, for his presence on this momentous occasion. He also stated that what matters is not winning or losing but the spirit of sportsmanship. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by College Captain, Suryansh Pandey, in which he expressed his gratitude to the Principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kumar for his vision, gratitude and also to the Principals of all the participating schools and the subsequent singing of the National Anthem.
