A HISTORIC TRIUMPH: JOSEPHITES CONQUER THE NATIONAL QUIZ ARENA
On the morning of 13 October 2026, St. Joseph’s College basked in the pride of a historic achievement as the results of the Father George Hess Memorial National Literary Events 2026 were announced. Held at Delhi Public School, Megacity, Kolkata, on 10 October, the National Events marked the culmination of a months-long journey through the Zonal and Regional rounds to the ultimate national stage. Organised under the aegis of the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC), the competition brought together talented young minds from across the country.
Our quizzing team, comprising Mohd. Jafar Sadiq and Anitej Kushwaha, scripted a new chapter in the College’s history by winning the Regional round held at St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun, on 22 August. This remarkable victory secured St. Joseph’s College its first-ever representation in the National Quiz Events.
Announcing the results with evident pride, Mrs. C. G. Walia shared the thrilling news that the Josephites had won the semi-final, earning their place in the National Grand Finale. Conducted by Vinay Mudaliar of Mindcogs, the final witnessed an intense contest of knowledge, quick thinking and intellectual agility. Our team ultimately secured the Second Runner-Up position at the All-India level, missing the top spot by a mere fifteen points. This outstanding accomplishment marked a significant milestone in the College’s participation in the ASISC National Literary Events.
Towards the close of the assembly, our Principal, Reverend Father Walter D’Silva, addressed the Josephites and highlighted the College’s remarkable achievements in ASISC and CISCE competitions during the academic year 2026–2027. He encouraged students to seize the opportunities offered by the College to participate in literary and sporting competitions, reminding them that every such endeavour is an opportunity to discover their potential, cultivate excellence and bring honour to their alma mater.
The historic national podium finish stands as a testament to the team’s dedication, intellectual prowess and perseverance, adding yet another proud chapter to the illustrious legacy of St. Joseph’s College. Semper Sursum! Always Aim High!
