Teachers are the cornerstone of any nation, bringing forth new talents, guiding the future generations to come. Their relentless commitment to the cause of guiding and nurturing the students helps shape the future of a country. They are the architects of our future, the guardians of our intellect, and the catalysts of our growth. As we navigate the complexities of an ever-changing world, the importance of teachers cannot be overstated, they are foundation upon which our collective progress is built.
The Teachers' Day celebration commenced on the 5th of September, 2024 with a warm and welcoming speech by the College Captain, Mohd. Sultan. His words were filled with respect and admiration for the teachers, setting an uplifting tone for the day. Emphasising the importance of teachers in shaping the future of students, he thanked them for their tireless efforts.
To enact god’s blessing on such a wonderful occasion, the Bible Reading and a special prayer was led by Shresth Sebastian, following which a prayer song was sung by the College Choir. Following the prayer song, the Lighting of the Lamp took place, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom. A short introductory video was played to officially begin the programme.
It was then time reveal the theme for this year’s celebration. Arush Singh then unveiled the central idea of the event, “Compromiso Impecable” meaning flawless commitment, which created excitement and anticipation among the audience.
The primary section students then took to the stage for an energetic dance performance. Their colourful attire and vibrant moves captured the attention of the audience, as they skillfully performed a routine that reflected joy and celebration. This was followed by a thoughtful and engaging skit, filled with comedy, drama and exceptional dialogue delivery.
A poem was recited by Ajay Raj Sharma, filled with deep meaning and appreciation for the role of teachers. The carefully chosen words stirred emotions in the audience, serving as a reminder of the dedication and sacrifice teachers make for their students.A documentary was also displayed on the screen highlighting the efforts they make and the influence they have. Varad Shukla contributed a lighter moment with his speech on teachers and their unwavering determination to instill values in their students.
The orchestra performance was one of the musical highlights of the event, featuring a rich blend of instruments that created a mesmerizing sound. The musical talent displayed by the students added depth to the celebration. This was followed by an I.T. presentation, which showcased the much-cherished memories of the teachers.
Adding a youthful charm to the event, the primary section students returned for an instrumental performance of their own. Their coordination and musical skill were impressive, as they played a selection of tunes that delighted the audience.
It was then time for the Principal, Rev. Fr. Walter D’Silva to address the gathering.He expressed gratitude to the teachers and reminded everyone of the vital role they play in moulding future generations. The speech also reinforced the significance of the event and celebrated the achievements of both teachers and students. Following this a special award was presented by Rev. Fr. Walter D’Silva to Mrs. Aparna Ranjan. On 7th February 2024, the former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi had along with the National President of Mahilla Morcha, Mrs. Vaniti Srinivasan, had awarded various women in different sectors for their exemplary services. The only person to be chosen from the field of education, Mrs. A. Ranjan had headed the St. Joseph’s Girls Wing, Mumfordganj, from 2012 to 2022, she faced obstacles bravely and came back to contribute her services as a Middle School Coordinator and Counsellor have to personally rephrase
The teachers were then entertained through a short game, based on the popular American family show called, ‘Family Feud.’
To conclude the event, Kavya Rai delivered a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the day a success, particularly acknowledging the dedication of the teachers.
Prior to the Teacher’s Day programme, a basketball match was played between the Staff and the Students, in which the Principal himself played with the Staff team, scoring 6 points in the match. After a nail-biting performance, the Staff finally emerged victorious with a score of 51-43. The man of the match was Mr. Shubham Chandra from the Staff team scoring a total of 31 points. Mayank Singh scored the highest from the Student’s team, who scored a total of 24 points.
The Principal Rev. Fr. Walter D'silva then felicitated Mrs. A. Ranjan for the award she was bestowed upon for the award she was bestowed upon for her services in the field of Education by the former Mayor, Mrs. Abhilasha Gupta Nandi and the national President of Mahilla morcha, Mrs. Vaniti Srivastava.
