Vidyarambham Ceremony 2025-26
The Vidyarambham ceremony was conducted with great reverence and enthusiasm on 4th and 5th of April 2025 at St. Joseph’s College, Prayagraj. The event marked the auspicious initiation of young children into the world of letters, a traditional ritual deeply rooted in Indian culture.
The program began at 9:00am with a brief lighting of the ceremonial lamp and reading from the holy scriptures, followed by prayer, invoking the blessings of God, the deity of knowledge and wisdom.
The Principal Rev. Father Walter D’Silva, addressed the gathering and highlighted the cultural and educational significance of Vidyārambham in a child’s life.
Cultural performances including dance, music, by the students of UKG , added color to the program. Light refreshments were served, and all participants received a small token of blessing and educational kits as a gesture of goodwill.
Children, accompanied by their parents, participated in the ritual where they were guided to write their first letters or numbers– traditionally” – on a bed of sand , under the guidance of learned teachers and scholars. The atmosphere was filled with devotion, joy, and hope as families celebrated the beginning of their children’s educational journey.
The program concluded on a positive note with heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and organizers whose collective efforts made the event memorable and meaningful.
